How We Work

A transparent and collaborative process

Clients are invited to the showroom to experience our materials up-close and in-person, as well as to meet our team of dedicated designers.

Designs evolve through conversation, sketches, detailed drawings, and tactile sessions with samples, ensuring every choice is deliberate and personal.

Initial Consultation

Whether you contact us by phone or email, the journey starts with understanding your project: your home, your plans, your timeline and your aspirations for the space.

If available, architectural drawings or layout sketches help us offer early guidance. If possible, we also would like you to visit the studio to explore materials and begin shaping the vision together.

Project Exploration

We’ll talk about how you live, what inspires you and the look and feel you want to achieve.

A visit to our Notting Hill studio gives you a chance to experience our craftsmanship first-hand.

If we have enough information, we can often provide an initial ballpark figure at this stage.

The visit helps refine the project brief and ensures we’re aligned on direction, budget, and expectations.

Design Development

Once you’re ready to proceed, we move into detailed design.

This stage is about refining the layout, proportions and material choices, so the kitchen feels fully resolved.

Drawings are developed and presented for discussion. Materials are reviewed in person and practical considerations such as storage, appliances and internal organisation are carefully thought through. We take the time to ensure every element works together before anything moves forward.

Technical Detailing

When the design is agreed, we prepare it for making.

This includes a full site survey to confirm dimensions and conditions, followed by detailed technical drawings for the workshop and suppliers. Every junction, fixing and material interface is resolved at this stage so that production runs smoothly and installation is precise.

It is a quieter but essential part of the process, ensuring your design can actually be turned into reality.

Production & Ordering

With technical drawings complete and materials confirmed, the kitchen moves into production.

This requires a 50% deposit of the total kitchen cost.

Cabinetry is made, specialist finishes are developed and bespoke elements such as metalwork or custom handles are fabricated. Appliances and components are ordered in line with the agreed schedule.

Because we take on a limited number of projects each year, production is carefully managed and given appropriate attention.

Installation

Once the kitchen components are ready and the client's site is prepared, installation is scheduled.

We handle the complete fit – including cabinetry installation, appliance placement and all finishing touches – on-site.

The process is overseen by our design and technical team to ensure the end result matches the vision and quality promised.

Our kitchens are bespoke and can be complex, with custom joinery and specialised components, so the installation is managed by our own team or partners who understand the intricacies of each project.

Completion & Handover

Once installation is complete, we review the kitchen thoroughly. Any final adjustments are addressed and we check that everything is working as it should.

Handover marks the point at which the kitchen becomes part of your daily life. But should anything need attention as you and your kitchen get to know each other, we continue to be available.

Frequently asked questions

Our kitchens start at around £70,000 plus VAT including appliances and worktops.

From there the investment really depends on the size of your space and the choices you make. The materials you fall in love with, the appliance brands you prefer, and the type of worktops you select will all influence the overall cost – whether that’s a beautifully durable quartz or a statement marble at the luxurious end of the spectrum.

We usually recommend getting in touch with us at least six months before you'd like your kitchen delivered.

That gives us plenty of time to design the space properly with you, refining every detail so it's exactly right, and where needed, to coordinate with your builders on the positioning of plumbing, electrics and other essential services.

If you're undertaking a larger renovation or full refurbishment, its often wise to speak to us even earlier. Many builders encourage clients to bring us in at the very beginning so we can prepare first fix drawings. In some cases, that can mean a year or even more, before the project is completed.

The earlier we're involved, the smoother the process tends to be.

We pride ourselves on our willingness to experiment and innovate. Every kitchen we create is crafted to suit you, not a catalogue. We focus on materials, detail and finishes that elevate a space while ensuring it works beautifully for your life. Our aim is a kitchen that feels effortless, considered, and completely unique to your home.

Absolutely. We're used to collaborating with architects, interior designers and builders to make sure everything from first fix drawings to final installation is seamless. This means fewer surprises and a smoother process for you.

Yes we work wherever the project is located, either in the UK or overseas.

A good place to start is by asking yourself am I looking for something truly personal, or something more off the shelf?

If you'd like a kitchen designed around the way you live, rather than a standard layout or colour palette, you'll probably feel very at home with us.

Have a look through our website and see which projects resonate with you. If you find yourself drawn to the detail, the materials and the individuality of the spaces, we'd recommend visiting the showroom and to talk through your ideas with Charlie or one of our designers.

We take on a limited number of projects each year so we can give every client the time, thought and attention their home deserves. Our process is collaborative and considered - we work closely with you to create a kitchen that reflects your style and design sensibility.

If that sounds like the experience you're looking for, there's a good chance Ledbury Studio will be a great fit.

We stand by the quality of our kitchens. After installation we're here to provide advice, support, and maintenance guidance so your kitchen continues to look and perform beautifully for years to come.
