The New Forest Kitchen
When our client moved from the Midlands to the New Forest, the first thing she wanted was a new kitchen, as this is the room in which she spends most of her time. The room was large enough to incorporate a large island with breakfast bar, a dining space with banquette seating and plenty of tall cupboards for storage space. She chose Ledbury Studio as she wanted something different from the eponymus Shaker look , and felt that a more contemporary aesthetic suited the style and architecture of this Edwardian villa. Charlie chose a beautiful bookmatched walnut veneer which he coordinated with hand patinated zinc panels , edged in the same walnut, and aged brass handles, combining quality craftsmanship, with beautiful materials, for a sleek and contemporary look. Ambre quartz worktops and chic terrazzo flooring complete the design.
Every nook in this kitchen has been maximised for clutterless storage… large pull out drawers throughout, a housekeeper’s cupboard housing the microwave and breakfast items, and a tall larder next to the fridge with pull out freezer drawers. The beautiful walnut table ,designed by Charlie, made from a single piece of walnut and embellished with aged brass , is a completely bespoke piece of furniture, and is one of our client’s most treasured pieces of furniture. To compliment the table the banquette seat was made from walnut and upholstered in a tough leather, so that her gorgeous Dalmatian can lounge on it without fear of damage. Truly a kitchen for our client to enjoy with her best friend!
