The Wimbledon Kitchen

An extensive renovation to our client’s home in Wimbledon inspired her to choose Ledbury Studio for the kitchen. She wanted a large open space for living, eating and dining... spacious enough for relaxing with her extended family, along with plenty of room to keep a watchful eye over her baby’s play area.  A lover and collector of modern art, our client wanted a minimal, industrial look to the kitchen,
to act as a backdrop to her collection of colourful paintings, and the stunning stained glass windows specially commissioned for the kitchen from the celebrated artist Brian Clarke. Working from a palette of grey tones, Charlie used hand finished and aged solid zinc doors from the Metallics Collection for the island, and elsewhere a specially commissioned paint effect was created on-site by our artist Emma to complete the look. Handless cupboards complete the minimal design of the cupboards, and two sets of natural oak drawers with exposed dovetail joints, add a craft inspired element to the very pared-back design. Crittall doors leading out into the garden and cool concrete floors provide the final finishing design elements to this unique kitchen.
