The Hampshire Kitchen
This kitchen, pantry and utility room were part of a painstaking renovation of a beautiful country house, set within the grounds of a Victorian walled garden in the heart of the Hampshire countryside.
Holly Bowden was commissioned as the interior designer of the project, and Charlie worked closely with her and our client to achieve the look of rustic simplicity but with a contemporary touch.

The wow factor in the kitchen is undoubtedly the stainless steel island housing the La Canche range cooker , and stainless steel hood above, complete with a rail for saucepans and utensils. Design is in the detail, so that the handles on the island were specially cast in stainless steel with brass highlights to match the oven, and a limestone from the Once a Week Quarry, edged with stainless steel and surrounded by a stainless steel rail complete the effect.
Ensuring that the island takes centre stage, the rest of the kitchen is in a simple shaker design painted in Cloth by Atelier Ellis, complemented with rustic handmade wall tiles.
The pantry and utility room are in a similar style, painted in Tirzah by Atelier Ellis, with dark stained solid oak worktops and a simple wooden shelf to match.
The space is a master class in restrained, pared back rustic chic, and is true to Ledbury Studio’s ethos of using artisan joinery methods to deliver a stylish and sophisticated result.
